Circle Graphics, Inc. was launched in 1974 as a type house primarily serving clients in the Washington, DC area. In 1985 the company moved to Maryland as we expanded into the Philadelphia and New York publishing markets. After nearly 30 years in Columbia, MD, our most recent move was to Reisterstown’s Main Street in 2018.

We were one of the first typesetting companies to transition from a proprietary to an off-the-shelf, PC-based typesetting system; among the first to use offshore labor; and one of the first to produce four-color textbooks in QuarkXPress. Today, we use Adobe InDesign to produce textbooks, reference materials, and journals that comprise the majority of our work. We also produce nearly 100 eBooks per year as ePub (for Kindle) and PRC (for most other mobile devices). Additionally we can follow your supplied DTD to create XML files for ancillary electronic products.

We offer a full-service workflow to complement each client’s production process, including project management, publication design, copyediting, photo research, proofreading, and indexing.

For over 20 years, starting in the year 2000, we have operated a 25-employee facility in Makati City, Philippines, which mirrors our operation in Maryland. Circle Graphics Philippines occupies offices on the 17th floor of a modern, 22-story office building in Manila’s central business district. We chose Manila because of its large pool of highly educated, English-speaking personnel. Almost all our Manila employees have a four-year college degree and all have undergone intensive training in pagination, quality control, or both; most have more than 10 years of hands-on experience. We comply with all laws of the Philippines including current labor laws, and our employees enjoy above-average benefits.

Circle Graphics changed ownership in 2018 as the next generation took the reins of the family business. As we look to the future, we’re excited to deepen our current partnerships, expand into new technologies, and continue to provide the high-quality service and support that our customers expect and deserve.
